RousterBout 3 Operating Instructions
1 - Fill solution tank with 10 gallons of clear water.
2 - Add 2 gallons of RousterChem© concentrate. If tank is already prepared, check pH level with optional pH meter or paper strips to ensure it is between 2.0 and 5.0. Over time the solution does weaken. If the pH is higher than 6.0 it may not be effective. The pH can be lowered by adding RousterChem© concentrate directly to the existing solution. The lower the number the more aggressive the descaling action.
3 - Blow air through mold or heat exchanger lines to remove standing water. Attach pressure hose from ROUSTERBOUT pump to "IN" line at mold (or heat exchanger).
4 - Attach return hose to "OUT" line at mold (or heat exchanger). Return line has filter unit on it.
DO NOT ALLOW PUMP TO RUN DRY - DO NOT ALLOW PUMP TO RUN DRY
Note: If reducers or couplers must be used, attach them to the ROUSTERBOUT hose ends, not to the pump connections. If ROUSTERBOUT pump connections must be replaced use only identical sized fittings and be careful not to exert excessive force or the pump and/or solution tank may be permanently damaged. This damage is NOT covered by our warranty.
5 - Start circulation by inserting electrical plug in a proper GFI outlet.
6 - Circulate water for proper time. If at room temperature, water must circulate for at least 20 minutes. If mold has just been shut down, see chart below for proper time settings. A warm mold will activate the cleaning solution faster than a cold mold. DO NOT USE AT OVER 100 F.
7 - Stop circulation by removing electrical plug from outlet.
8 - Remove ROUSTERBOUT connecting hoses from the mold or heat exchanger.
9 - Blow a stream of air through the mold lines until dry, to keep the lines from rusting.
10 - If mold (or heat exchanger) will not be used immediately use proper rust preventive in water lines.
11 - Check and clean return line filter screen. This should be done every time the ROUSTERBOUT is used as a clogged filter may cause damage to the pump unit. An increased pressure reading on dial gauge indicates a clogged filter.
If disposing of a tank of solution, add Rouster-Chem Neutralizer (approximately 1 pound per 5 gallons solution) to bring the pH level to a "safe-disposal level" of between 5.0 and 9.5 with 7.0 being ideal.
NOTE: The cleaning solution works faster when it is warm. The total time for circulating the solution at varying temperatures is shown in the following table:
Temperature of mold Cleaning time required
60 F 60 minutes
70 F 40 minutes
80 F 20 minutes
90 F 10 minutes
DO NOT USE AT TEMPERATURES ABOVE 100 F OR BELOW 40 F, OR SOLUTION BECOMES INEFFECTIVE, PUMP IMPELLER WILL SEIZE, AND FITTINGS MAY WARP, CRACK, AND LEAK. WARRANTY DOES NOT COVER THIS.
Our warranty covers all parts for 30 days from date of purchase.
TIRES INFLATE TO 30 PSI.
